  Addiction is a disease that took away my spirit and soul. It went on to bankrupt me morally, mentally and physically. The insanity of it became very real, quite frankly it became my reality and a very scary place to be. Change is hard when you have been struggling with something for a very long time. My bottom came when I had complete loss of self and zero regard for my life or the hurt I was causing others. It is a place I never would have thought I would ever be and it was as though another entity had taken over my life. And so I gathered up every ounce of strength I had left and on January 8, 2018 I checked into my 3rd treatment centre with a new desperation. The hardest thing I have ever had to do and the best thing I could have ever done for myself was to let go of everything and forgive myself in order to move forward. It has been an incredibly challenging year and yet the most fulfilling and worthwhile year of my life. Recovery became my #1 priority because I knew I had nothing without it. Almost 200 meetings this year and building a supportive foundation, yoga, meditation, dog walking and art have been instrumental in my healing. Art has become creative therapy for me and I have really found myself again in it. I have been working on a project this past year and have started my own little business, which just amazes me. On the morning of my one year sober birthday I came out from night shift to my car and I got in and just wept. Not only was it a day I had dreamed of for so long but a day I reached the biggest accomplishment of my life. When you don’t know if you’ll ever get here or if you’ll ever come back and then you do...it is an indescribable feeling. I always had said that I just wanted more than anything to be normal and to not do insane things. The truth is that all I ever really wanted was peace of mind and I feel as though I have that today. For anyone still struggling.. if you stick with sobriety long enough to see the big picture and what real life is all about, I promise you it will be so worth it just as you are. The impossible is possible, dreams can come true, I believe time can heal and it does get better. Never give up the fight. I am reminded everyday that it is never too late to rebuild your life or follow your dreams and I will continue to move forward on this beautiful recovery journey that keeps surprising me in the best of ways. Thank you to my amazing husband and family who never gave up on me or lost hope even when I had, your support means everything to me. I love you with all of my heart.
  
  I also want to extend a special thank you to the Orchard Recovery Center for providing me with the tools, guidance and support I needed in order to begin my new journey. I would not be where I am today without you. It was here that I was finally really introduced to the 12 step program. Absolute life changing experience and so much inspiration amongst their staff. What they do for people everyday is nothing short of amazing and they will forever have a place in my heart.

  This caring loving holistic centre saved our son's life. He arrived at near death and they were all amazing in helping him get his and our lives back. They helped our son tremendously and taught us how to help him and ourselves.There is no place that compares. Be sure to read the google reviews of other centres. I consider their horrific stories to be true because we had horrible promises and experiences at other centres. I highly recommend the Orchard.

  19 months of sobriety and life is good again. Before I entered the Orchard on Bowen Island, I was at a point in my life where I had given up on trying to stop drinking and smoking weed every day. I had tried quitting so many times in the last 40 years and had convinced myself that I wasn’t as bad with my addiction as a lot of other people I knew, “so what’s the point?” Well little did I know that I had been pushing everyone I loved away from me. I was isolating from life more and more, and my family had basically had enough. I was being a complete jerk but blamed everyone else. When I came through the doors of the Orchard, I was ready to try anything to save myself from losing my family and everything I cared about. When I was finally able to admit I was an alcoholic addict and my life was unmanageable, a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders, and that was when I thought there was a glimmer of hope that I had a chance of getting my life and family back. After a couple of days in the Orchard, I started to fit right in. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, counselors, doctors, recovery coaches, yoga instructors, music therapy, kitchen staff, etc.. The food and accommodation were excellent, and the whole experience lets you worry about nothing other than working on your recovery. My life is a 100% better now that the blaming, fear, anxiety and crazy thoughts are slowly but surely becoming less and less a part of my daily life. I now have tools to help me deal with life’s up and downs. I still make mistakes, but know how to correct situations and make amends when needed without going back to using and making life more complicated Thanks to everyone at the Orchard Recovery Center and to my Family.   If you are looking for the best of the best treatment center for addictions The Orchard is it . This is the place to be . The Orchard is an opportunity of a life time for personal growth and change . You will not regret the decision of attending this program or giving a loved one the gift of recovery at The Orchard . Best treatment for " everyone" involved - family , friends , spouses and addicts . You will all walk away educated and informed . Supportive environment . Beautiful setting on Bowen Island helps immensley for healing and reconnecting to self . Once you are there you wont want to leave . Top notch ! Aftercare program and lots of alumni encouragement and support . Magical place where recovery becomes possible .

  The Orchard Recovery Centre has helped me and my family find solutions to the problems drug and alcohol addiction had caused in our lives. The level of care provided throughout the facility is highly professional and therapeutic. The experience, hospitality, and compassion of the clinical team and staff created a safe and healing environment necessary to address the underlying issues of my addiction. The ORC gave me the knowledge and tools I needed to live a healthy and fulfilling life in recovery. Highly recommended!
