  I've been flying professionally for about 30 years now, I started out in rotary and then moved to the airlines and have been involved in checking and training for international airlines. I went to Chinook to convert my foreign licence to a Canadian CPL(H) and would have absolutely no reservation in recommending Chinook to Ab Initio pilots or more experienced pilots wanting to convert. They are a thoroughly professional outfit with capable and friendly staff

  I did my fixed wing flight training at Chinook Helicopters and got my private pilot license. (many years ago :)
  
  I feel very lucky to have had Cathy Press as my instructor. I can’t say enough about her and her training style.
  
  I highly recommend Cathy and Chinook Helicopters!

  I came to Chinook from Australia with a few years helicopter experience under my belt.
  
  Knocked over turbine endorsement and conversion in a little under a month though would have been quicker had there not been issues with the medical and of course weather.
  
  Chinook are great, very simplified structure for conversion students. The staff are all very good people and genuinely interested in you and your progress.
  
  Not only that, Chinook were instrumental in helping me find work straight off the bat purely through all the contacts they have in the Canadian aviation industry.

  This is for the ones who want to sign up to be a pilot.
  
  I will be honest the classes for low time pilots seems to be a bit to busy and thus a distraction for low time pilots to have a excellent education. The instructors are not around the class room enough to help students more one on one to learn what they need to become more confident in their education.
  
  The flying is great the instruction is superb but I will warn each low time pilot that these flight school want your money, and wont tell you what the industry is really like for a low time pilot. Chinook has a very nice facility, excellent machines, and staff. This place is busy and is a hub for people in the industry.
  
  Be very careful in signing up and wasting your time and money on something that may get you no where or dead. Please do you research and gather as much information as you possibly can from people who work in the industry outside these training facilities first.
  
  Talk to chief pilots and go visit hangers and see if this is the right career for you, do not assume or be eager! Its easy to get a license but its incredibly hard to get a job in the industry as a young person with no background in aviation. Its all about who you know, persistence, so go get some experience on the ground first before you sign up. The industry needs ground/ramp employees and you do not need a commercial license for that job.
