“Some amazing, some great, some not my style. The productions are always top notch. I buy seasons tickets most years and give away the ones I don't want to see so others can experience live theatre. The buffet is good, not great or outstanding. Friday is usually better than Saturday. The chocolate fountain is truly cool and they have some good desserts. Wine menu is adequate. Servers are very friendly.”

“A small family-run restaurant, quaint and adorable setting and environment in Duncan downtown which provides small town atmosphere. This restaurant serves a Reuben sandwich that is absolutely the best in the world. There is not another restaurant in this city which produces a reuben sandwich as good as the one made here at this restaurant. My wife enjoys coming here for the Chinese special meal.”

“Best Thai Food in town!!! Family owned and operated with authentic recipes and traditional cuisine. Many delicious homemade menu items to choose from; decadent Red Curry is my favorite, the delicious spring rolls are made by the owner and they’re huge. Highly recommend and it’s also nice to support local businesses”

“A beautiful and quaint visitor center and rest area set into a wooded backdrop. The bathrooms are always clean (for a rest stop), the employees in the center are knowledgeable and friendly, there is ample parking, and is just footsteps from a great little surf shop, food, and a few minutes drive into Ukee south or Pacific Rim National Park to the north. I love this little place, and don't forget to buy your parking passes for the beach here, as the ones you buy here are good for ALL beaches in the national park.”

“Ice cream is great and the 7$ meal deal is hard to beat. Just wish the bacon wasn't undercooked and translucent everytime.”

“The atmosphere and aroma are amazing. It is an older restaurant, quaint and comfortable, like entering a time warp. It evokes dim memories of my childhood. It isn't a fancy, trendy chain. It is a basic Mom & Pop. The menu is diverse, western cuisine, home style, and reasonably priced. The club sandwich and coleslaw were delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful to accommodate and make recommendations for dietary restrictions. The location is in Chemainus, right on the highway, easy to get to. Half way between Duncan to the south and Ladysmith to the north. There is plenty of parking.”

“Simple good food! Super little local spot if it’s busy expect a regular to serve you coffee. No frills and excellent service from the owner. Be prepared for conversation the food can be a while. My eggs were golden and my hash browns were awesome! On the wall here find some neat carvings.”

“Although I can't confirm it, I believe the name of this business may have changed. That aside, I visited the Cafe recently for lunch and the place had about six people sitting around or coming in and out giving vibes that this was perhaps a hangout spot for the locals. In the summer months I'm sure this place preys on those using the ferry. The food was decent, we tried their brand-new-to-the-menu pizza; they had two choices, pepperoni and Hawaiian. The pizza was decent, not great, not terrible. I would be tempted next time to stick to a drink and the baked goods, maybe try a sandwich. Overall, a decent 3/5.”

“Great food but issues with the bill. Got way overcharged, like 2/3 more, did not realize it at first, but when we did, it took a week to get it back after lots of arguing. It is very likely that it was a honest mistake, but we should not have had to fight and prove that we were overcharged.”

“Okay this place doesn’t look like much from the outside but a serious GEM of the Cowichan Valley. Truely authentic East Indian cuisine, order the butter chicken it’s incredible. Went there once... I now go here all the time. Super great staff too.”

“Not sure if this employee was new, as I've never seen her there before, but Sadie was lovely! Best experience I've ever had at any McDonald's because she was so pleasant. I watched her go out of her way to help a customer with a disability, and she was so polite.”

“not sure if it was worth the drive. The setting and venue was nice but in general the place was a bit dirty and not really tended to. The wine selection was quite limited and none of the dishes really stood out unfortunately. Would give it a try if you're nearby but not worth the trip out.”

“We had a great time during the mushroom foraging workshop at Deerholme farm. Bill is very knowledgeable and we learned quite a lot. We had a chance to go for a walk in the woods where Bill showed us how to apply our newly acquired knowledge. He also shared some tips for cooking with mushrooms and made us some delicious meals. As an experienced cook, I didn’t learn much during the cooking class, but it was still a fun culinary experience.”

“Great food and nice atmosphere. The chicken quessadilla was more like a tortilla wrap. But the filling was great, with tons of chicken. I just wish they would use less throw-away plastic like straws or little plastic cups for sauces. There are lots of more sustainable alternatives available.”

“Certainly not the cheapest fast food around but I really don't think that's what they're going for. The quality of the food is second to none for a place with a drive through window. Inside though, you get a fun look back with a bit of an old style diner. There are quite a few friendly staff.”
