  I take my kids (boy and girl) to the junior class. they have so much fun there. Hank is really good with kids. It is so incredible to see the smiles on kids faces when they get something right.

  Awesome place, Henry Panek does a great job. Kids love it and it's great for them physically and mentally.

  I started training with Hank and the team in 2015 and took a few years off due to injury. I recently started training again with the club and it's been amazing. Hank and the crew have always been welcoming, supportive and inspirational. I would recommend anyone thinking of trying BJJ to drop into the gym to try or reach out to Hank to get more details. Training like this will change your life for the better. South Island BJJ for life!

  Amazing people make an amazing atmosphere.
  I decided to get off the fence (and couch) and begin training at SIBJJ about two months ago, not having a training partner to go with made the decision to try out the club solo a bit intimidating but after my first class I was hooked. Everyone is super welcoming, understanding of the lack of conditioning and experience and are more than willing to answer every question to help everyone learn BJJ. The club has a friendly inviting atmosphere, led by BJJ black belt professor Henry (Hank) Panek, and many other very experienced members doing the best job imaginable to represent BJJ and tbe SIBJJ club.

  Not to many BJJ Gyms have the type of culture that you get at South Island. Trust is a big part of that Culture. I've been training there for 2 + years and never had a situation that I felt like I didn't trust anyone. Hank has also created a collaborative learning environment, where we can all learn from each other, this is very important is a sport where people tend not to show all their cards to their team mates. At South Island I feel like people are always willing to teach you everything they know.
