  After walking to the end of the breakwater pier, we took a chance on the Breakwater Tasting Room and were not disappointed. Everything we tried was excellent, including the delicious kale gomae, fried chicken, salmon burger and halibut fish and chips. Dessert was yummy churros. Happily for us, gluten-free options were plentiful. The Tasting Room outside area has a very cozy feel because of the open fire pits in both corners and the warming heat lamps. We had never been particularly impressed with the cafe upstairs, but the new restaurant downstairs by the same owners, where much of the food is cooked in an attached food truck kitchen, was refreshingly good in every respect. Farm to table has gone mainstream — understandably and very happily.

  If you are looking for a quiet place for a drink and light music with fantastic food, this is a great off the beaten path place. It feels like a bit of candle light vibes but with a bit of hip. Menu is small but excellent and locally grown. Alcohol selections are multiple.

  Very spacious and cosy. A good selection of beers and wine. A great place for people watching and observing the cruise ships in the background.

  This establishment was at our last port stop of our cruise. It sits walking, skipping, crawling, or spitting distance away from your ship. Next to the Breakwater wall where you can get a few scenic photos. We were pretty much done with tours and such of cities, but wanted to try some local (Canadian) beers and whiskeys. This is the best spot to not have to use paid transportation. The staff is welcoming and helpful with suggestions off their menu. This a great adult option if you don't want to do an excursion in Victoria.
