Wild Renfrew Seaside Cottages

A bit overpriced and not super private. Layout of the cottage also strange as most seating was pointed away from the ocean and the furniture was not comfortable. This is a 3 star on the generous side.

Great place in a remote area, NO cell phone coverage. We stayed in cabin 14, a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean and wharf. Very private and have its own ocean view patio deck. Love the outdoor gas fireplace to complete a day with a glass of wine. The cabin is clean and comes with the kitchen's cookware. The missing star is for the lack of consistent wifi internet and unclear parking instruction. There is no parking spot sign for unit 14, so we parked at the 15min loading zone.

I loved the wharfside ocean view cottage, where we got to enjoy a drink on our little deck while chatting with people who walked by on the wharf. The space was clean and fresh and just such a peaceful place to hang out. I do wish there was a bit more space to store belongings, like a small shelf or drawers, as well as coasters to protect the table. A communal BBQ or outdoor grill with utensils would also be great, as many local eateries were closed due to staffing troubles, making food options very limited. Nearby pub is excellent though. Would definitely recommend the wharfside studio!

A great little collection of Cottages right next to the water! Modern, clean and well equipped. The only reason this is a 3* review is that the cottage we stayed in wasn’t ideal. We stayed in cottage 7 which is unfortunately right on the Boardwalk, or Wharf. Whilst this is advertised in the listing and even the name of the room type, what’s not made clear is that the wharf is used constantly from 5am to about 9-10pm by fishermen and the public. We had cars driving a couple of feet from our windows starting at 5am, wheels on the boardwalk make lots of noise! On top of this the general public walk past a few feet from your patio and can see straight into the rooms. Privacy is a no no in this cabin! It was nice to chat to some that walked past as we sat enjoying the view, but it was constant and busy!
The view from them is still stunning and partially made up for it, but it was still a serious issue. One that should be reflected in the prices. We still paid almost $400 a night.
Even with all the above, we plan to return and book into the Oceanside cottages. These seemed much more private and offered a better view! Come and stay here….Just ensure if you like peace and quiet with a dash of privacy , don’t stay in the wharf side cabins.

Overall a great and relaxing stay here at the resort. A couple things to consider (1) nothing is really open in town Tuesday - Friday including the local breakfast spot so come prepared with your own food (2) no ovens in the cottages - only stovetops (3) the beds are super soft + creek when to move - making for a less than optimal sleep (4) the local pub near the hotel is great but food gets old after 3-4 nights (5) no privacy on your deck. Staff were super friendly but I would suggest only a couple days needed here and come on the weekend.
