  Just visiting the Island from a freezing cold Edmonton, AB and today is my last day here before heading east again. I googled 'best soup and sandwiches near me' and this is what came up so I thought I'd give it a try. I expected a small 'mom and pop' type place and that's what I got. Great homemade bread, great homemade soups, great sandwich, great staff. What threw me for a loop was the Military memorabilia when I walked inside. As a Veteran, it's awesome to see support for the troops, but in the case of this place, I knew people who sailed on a number of the ships and submarines represented here and that choked me up. The only thing I couldn't find was the plaque representing my ship though, unless it was hiding; HMCS Provider.
  
  You have a great place here, I would definitely recommend it to anyone, and should I be back on the Island in the future, I'll come again.

  I was having a really bad day before I went into dad's for the first time today. The ladies behind the counter had me in tears laughing from so hard. The soup and sandwich were delicious, a great experience overall. Thanks to the team behind the counter, your fun loving nature spread carried with me ever since I left.

  The best sandwiches on the island. I swear by that. Every time I go the staff is extremely friendly, and the food is amazing. Homemade bread which is made fresh every day, fantastic soups that are made with love, and the ingredients to make the sandwiches are fresh. I wouldn't even say its pricey. A huge sandwich and soup for 13$ is not really a lot. Even a Subway sandwich with a soup is going to be 12$ and not even nearly as good. I recommend anyone who wants a quick lunch that's healthy and delicious to stop here.

  Went to Dads today for brunch with my wife. Place was very unassuming and I was totally impressed with the staff and service. Food was excellent too! I had soup that was home made from scratch and filling. Very delicious! My wife really enjoyed her breakfast burrito. Additionally the grilled ham and cheese was perfect! Makes their own bread and prices are good for portion size! I came from downtown to eat here and would gladly return! Loved it thanks so much

  Let's be honest everyone who goes to Dad's for so and a sandwich is never disappointed. I love there egg salad sandwich. If you haven't been there you should go. They even have stuff like homemade mac n cheese which you can buy and take home to warm up in your oven.
