It has been very unfortunate with COVID-19 that ASVI Calgary has been unable to have the usual monthly VI Youth Development Programs. I am looking forward to these commencing again in the future. Our family always loves the events planned and adaptations made for my VI son.
However, THANK YOU, to ASVI Calgary for the adaptive technology loan for my son. Without organizations like ASVI, my son would not have access to the various technology pieces. He is a Braille reader/user and adaptive technology is quite expensive. So the opportunity to loan the technology opens so many doors for him.
ASVI is an amazing organization! I am so glad that my family was put in contact with the Calgary Chapter. It is an organization for the VI child/youth but also the entire family is made to feel welcome. We have made some great friendships through ASVI.
ASVI has organized some wonderful activities (Build a Bear, Wall Climbing, Trampoline event, Zoo , rollerskating, WEM Waterpark, etc.). ASVI provides my family unit with the sense of empowerment through their programs. My daughter's favorite yearly event is the Braille Challenge.
The technology that ASVI offers to their youth VI members dramatically increases their quality of life.
